The Battle Enhancement Attribute Type (BEAT) System allows the player to choose party members' BEAT Bonus type. As combat experience increases, the team can achieve higher BEAT Ranks, which unlock advanced styles, known as Action Upgrades.

  • BEAT.S is a type of offense fighting style, which is actually a special Blind Sides technique. In effect, the team member forgoes defense and initiates multiple Blindsides to confuse the enemy, then unleashes a flurry of highly damaging attacks.
  • BEAT.B is a type of defense fighting style, a special Rush mode power play style. The team member fights the enemy directly in front with special attacks. During this time, the member is almost invulnerable to enemy attacks.
  • BEAT.N is a neutral style of fighting as it doesn't upgrade any particular ability, but combines the stat enhancements from the other BEAT styles. This is often used as the default BEAT for a character and the player can change it at will.

Strike Bonuses
Level 1: Increased damage to Blindsided enemies.
Level 5: Chain Combo entry during Blindsides.
Level 9: Double Blindsides enabled (avoids counters).
Level 13: Blindside charging enabled while attacking.
Level 17: Freeze nearby enemies when Blindsiding.
Level 20: "No Guard" status while Blindside charging.

Burst Bonuses
Level 1: Increased Critical Hit Chance during Rush Mode.
Level 5: Rush Gauge increase rate up.
Level 9: MP cost -25% during Rush Mode.
Level 13: Rush Gauge decrease rate down.
Level 17: Damage -5% during Rush Mode.
Level 20: Rush Gauge increase during Rush Mode.
























BEAT: Neutral

BEAT: Neutral does not have a leveling system or its own bonuses. The bonuses given when using BEAT.N are the combination of your BEAT.S bonus and BEAT.B bonus.

  • i.e. If Edge has BEAT.S Level 1 and BEAT.B Level 1 then his bonus using BEAT.N is +1% Max HP, +5 ATK, +5 INT, +5 DEF, +2 HIT, and +2 GRD.
  • i.e. If Edge has BEAT.S Level 8 and BEAT.B Level 3 then his bonus using BEAT.N is +3% Max HP, +40 ATK, +40 INT, +30 HIT, +15 DEF, and +10 GRD.
