Events (イベント, Ibento?) are an activity in Star Ocean: Anamnesis. Events are typically marked by the opening of a time-limited series of missions, coupled with the addition of new summonable units and weapons that hold an advantage in the featured missions, as well as exchangeable items and useful materials.

Timed events[]

These events are time-limited. Most events run on two-week intervals unless otherwise noted to the start of a following event, with Misery 2 and higher missions arriving in the second week:

  • Boss events - The player's party faces off against one preselected boss at progressive difficulties. Rewards may be given for kills completed during the event period, as well as for participation in story missions. May drop exchange currency.
  • Special events - Players traverse a scenario map as in the main game, which may be based on a previous game, or may be an original event. Players must complete prior missions to unlock new paths through the story, increasing in difficulty as the stories progress. As with boss events, rewards may be given for bosses killed and story segments completed, though not all missions will have a boss. May drop exchange currency.
  • Achievement events - These events are usually released as companion stories to a larger event. There are no battles, but there are achievements to collect during the event period, which include a featured unit and materials.

Material missions[]

  • Daily Enhance & Augment missions which rotate at least once a day, offering specific materials for unit development. The player faces up to three waves of enemies on a choice of three difficulties (two waves on Easy difficulty). A mission that drops randomized materials is also available throughout the week.
  • Hammer Mission: The enemies fought in this mission drop enhancement hammers, used to level-up weapons.
  • Ingot Mission: The enemies fought in these missions drop ingots of all types, which can be sold for the FOL needed to perform upgrades. Choose from 3 skill levels.
  • Seed Missions: Enemies fought in these missions drop Starseeds, used to augment units by padding their individual stats. Choice of Misery difficulty levels. Alternates between weekdays and weekends. Bosses drop exchange coins.
  • Thread Mission: The enemies in this mission drop Thread of all types, used to level-up accessories.
  • Ticket Mission: Select missions can be undertaken in exchange for Mission Tickets, collected over the course of normal gameplay or purchased in exchanges.
