Adray uses Sirocco
Spicule, also known as Sirocco, is a recurring Special Art in the Star Ocean series. It is an extremely powerful fire-based attack that has been used by protagonists and antagonists alike.

Star Ocean: The Second Story/Second Evolution[]
This Special Art is strictly used by the Wise Man, Michael. He leaps straight up into the air towards a flaming wall and returns to the earth in a blaze that is powerful enough to defeat all party members that have little protection against fire damage. This special art stops time when activated, so once it starts, it can't be stopped.

When Adray uses Sirocco, he leaps into the air and crashes into the earth head-first, creating a wide-range eruption of flames. It has a long recovery time, leaving Adray vulnerable after performing it. Spicule is also available in the versus battle mode.

Etymology[]
Spicule is most likely derived from the Astronomy term, a phenomenon where gas jets up from the surface of the sun. It is also possibly based on the common usage, referring to a sharp or needlelike object, as all versions of the skill involve the user striking the ground with pinpoint accuracy.
Trivia[]
- Spicule is the first (and currently, only) time a special art debuted as an antagonist's skill and was later adopted by a protagonist in another game. The only comparable skill is Divine Wave, which began as an enemy Special Art but evolved into Symbology in Star Ocean: The Last Hope.
